Motivation
Kirk asked for one place to bring his professional work and independent interests together. The site needs to be useful to someone reviewing his work and straightforward to maintain.
What was built
This first version was implemented with Codex from Kirk’s brief. It is a static Astro and TypeScript site. Projects, articles, and creative work use validated Markdown files. The same publication rule governs detail pages, indexes, related content, and the RSS feed.
Decisions and tradeoffs
Static generation keeps hosting simple and public pages fast. It also means a scheduled article needs a new build after its publication time. Plain Markdown and a small content model fit the first version without a database or CMS.
Status and lessons
This is an active first version awaiting Kirk’s review. The content model is ready for more work. Other project descriptions and creative pieces are held as drafts until their details and rights are checked.
